Till the age of 39, she was just a housewife and a mother of two and had never thought of becoming a business woman. She started with a small-scale home-based business in 1982 by taking a loan of Rs. 8000. She officially started operating under the Brand Name of “BIBA” from 1988. Initially, she used to design clothes just to earn pocket money. Now BIBA has more than 150 brand outlets and 225 multi-brand outlets. The annual turnover of Biba  is estimated at Rs.600 crores today.
