She stood in front of the mirror as her eyes stared at those of her reflection. And her mind began to wonder about that long-lost dream of hers which could be visualized as a small bakery. She began to remember the sweet compliments about her homemade cakes and pies she had heard now and then. But somehow, these compliments had now turned into loud prompts which echoed in her ears every time. Her eyes soon circled back to herself and then stayed still. For currently, she was a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife and a mother. But could she be more?

Women empowerment can be defined as promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others. As much as I agree with this definition, I also think that empowering women is something that should be done more and on a larger scale, especially during these times. As there are lots of women across the nation, who possess valuable knowledge, skill and talent in various fields but have somehow been constricted from spreading this knowledge to many and all those in need of it.

 But if you consider these inspirational women such as Malala Yousafzai , Kalpana Chawla , Indra Gandhi and many more. You would come to find that no matter what came in their journey, they kept going on. Then why should this pandemic stop us from spreading our knowledge and skill?

The pandemic has surely invaded many livelihoods and businesses across the globe but that should not stop us from following our passion and discovering who we truly are. For we, humans, have a long history for fighting every obstacle that we have ever encountered and adapting to any change brought upon our lives. These times may be stressful but are equally crucial to discover and develop our interests,
dreams and passions.

Women empowerment is not only a strong idea and motive and but also a medium for all of us to empower ourselves and help empower billions of other women.
